SAVAGE/LOVE
By Sam Shepard
Directed by Molly Budke
The second of three major collaborations between writer Sam Shepard and director Joseph Chaikin, Savage/Love explores romantic and sexual relationships through poetic moments. Written to explore "romantic love [and] the closeness and distance between lovers," the poems bring common emotional experiences to life on stage, allowing each speaker, listener and participant to examine the moments of their own narrative.
The Falling Sickness
By Russel Edson
Directed by Levi Morris
American Prose Poet Russell Edson is well known for his surreal and nightmarishly absurd prose poetry. The Falling Sickness A Book of Plays is Edson’s first collection of short plays examining the painfully tragic and satirical nuclear family. In a play where very little happens, the stakes are especially high in the struggle for love, acceptance and human connection. The Falling Sickness allows us to laugh at our misfortunes while examining the most important elements that bind us together.
