Five Year Joint Accounting - MAL Program                 smlogo.gif (1217 bytes)

1.  Students in the Public Accounting track apply for admission to the MAL program at the end of the junior year.  The application
      process includes:  submission of a completed application form, three letters of recommendation (two from professors and one
      from an employer), a personal statement, an example of their writing in an academic paper, a GPA of at least 3.3, and an
      interview with a three-person panel from the MAL program

2.  Students must also have faculty endorsement from the Accounting program.

3.  Students must complete at least one year of accounting work experience (either a job or an internship) by the time they graduate
      from the MAL program.  This can be done during their last 1 1/2 years, working during the day and taking MAL classes at night.
