Academic Skills Coaches are available to assist students with many types of academic challenges including: note taking, textbook reading and comprehension, memorization strategies, time management, test taking, concentration improvement and stress reduction.
Augsburg College also offers a one semester course, Introduction to the Liberal Arts (GST 140), which develops a basic knowledge of note taking, textbook reading, memorization, test taking and time management strategies. The course also works to improve student self-esteem and academic self-concept. Some first-year students may be required to take this course during their first or second semester. Other students may enroll in the course with instructor's consent, or should consult with an advisor.
