Whether you are currently teaching or have decided a career in education is for you, Augsburg's Master of Arts in Education program can provide the training you need to take the next step in your life. Our program includes options to obtain your initial teaching license, get a second license or endorsement, and complete a master's degree. With classes meeting in Minneapolis and Rochester on the weekend or in the evening, Augsburg’s MAE program provides the flexibility for working professionals to further their education.
Augsburg College participates in NExT, Network for Excellence in Teaching, an initiative of the Bush Foundation. The newly revised Reading Endorsement at Augsburg College begins June 2012!
Be a force for reading in your school through the Reading Endorsement leadership program.
This endorsement can be added on to any current teaching license and consists of 4.5 graduate level credits that may also be applied to the required 9-10 credits needed for a Master of Arts in Education.
The program is conveniently scheduled for working teachers. A 5-day campus based intensive course in summer is followed by hybrid courses that uses a combination of online and classroom components.
Explore your own insights as a reader and the many roles of reading leaders. Review the depth and breadth of literature from different perspectives to develop an inclusive classroom. Investigate the reading process, reading theory, the link between assessment and instruction along with reading strategies for all levels of readers. Develop your own personal philosophy statement on reading over the course of the program.
