“Globalization with a human face is the context of my current research and writing. This relates to the increase studies in global awareness and the impact of knowledge of human rights on social work practice. I was recently involved in the Mexico Consortium, and have lived, worked and played in more than 20 countries, including Slovenia and India.”
Rosemary works with child poverty protection group in London and she
loves writing and researching. She functions as a co-learner as well
as a teacher so that her classroom is a community of learners. She also
stays very involved in her community outside of Augsburg, where she serves
as vice chair of The Southside Family Nurturing Center. She also takes
her students into the community and integrates the community into her
courses.
“Augsburg is uniquely placed in an urban setting with very strong ties
to community agencies and worldwide communities through the Global Education
department. Augsburg also has a very creative and diverse group of faculty.”
How does she help students succeed? “I walk with them. We walk
the road together through the education and practicum. Nobody slips through
the cracks. We hope we are all models and develop peer-based support.”
