Honoring Culture and Community
Through the American Indian Student Services Program, Augsburg offers national and local
speakers of interest to the regional American Indian community. The program
sponsors conferences, seminars and forums featuring topics such as sovereignty,
treaty rights, spirituality, families and children, education and environmental
issues. More contemporary issues such as nuclear storage, affirmative action,
gaming and interactive learning on reservations have also been offered. Augsburg
also sponsors various cultural events and is available for community meetings.
Our graduates are valued members of their communities. They maintain their contact
with the AISSP and are invaluable in our networking with current students.
