Augsburg College

Admission Requirements:
In the admission process, Augsburg seeks the academically well-prepared student. We expect strong high school grades and test scores. But we also look at the total picture—Augsburg is best suited for the well-rounded individual who has an inquiring mind and the motivation to learn.

Freshman applicants

The priority deadline for Spring applications is December 1.
The Early Advantage deadline for Fall Semester is December 15.

To apply for admission to Augsburg, freshman applicants need to:

  • Complete the application form, plus the essay
  • Submit an official high school transcript
  • Have your ACT or SAT scores sent to us
  • Submit two letters of academic recommendation.
  • Include check or money order for the $25 non-refundable application fee. (Application fee waived for online applicants)

Applying by the Early Advantage deadline qualifies you for extra benefits, including:

  • An additional *$500 per year* added onto your academic-based Regents’ Scholarship (which may range from $4,500 to $10,500 per year), if eligible.
  • A reserved place in our *first registration session* this summer, provided you make your $150 enrollment deposit by May 1, 2006
  • Guaranteed housing* in our freshman residence hall, provided you turn in your housing contract and $200 housing deposit by June 1, 2006.
  • Early Advantage applications are non-binding – it’s simply our way of rewarding you for applying early to Augsburg.

Transfer students

To apply for admission to Augsburg as a transfer student, applicants need to:

  • Complete the application form, plus the essay
  • Submit official academic transcripts of all post-secondary work from the registrar of each college, university, or vocational/technical school you have attended in the school's envelope, to Augsburg's Office of Undergraduate Admission
  • If you have completed one year or less of college level-work, also submit an official high school transcript sent directly to Augsburg by the school. Submit scores from ACT or SAT.
  • Submit two letters of academic recommendation if cumulative GPA is below 3.0
  • Include check or money order for the$25 non-refundable application fee. (Application fee waived for online applicants)

Acceptance
You will be notified of the admission decision after your completed application file, including supporting documents such as essays and recommendations has been evaluated by the Admissions Committee.
