Augsburg College A-Club

A-Club Mission Statement The A-Club is a service organization of former and current Augsburg College athletes and friends of the college committed to providing student-athletes with the opportunity to have a quality athletic experience by supporting Auggie athletic teams, the athletic department, and the mission of the college.   Members have the opportunity through the A-Club to continue a personal involvement in Augsburg athletics through participation in social events, attending athletic events, the giving of their time, and financially supporting A-Club goals and programs.

Augsburg athletic alumni are encouraged to remain active in supporting Auggie athletics! The newly merged Augsburg A-Club is made up of male and female alumni who wish to continue their support of all 18 Augsburg sports.

When the call has gone out to help the athletics program at Augsburg College, a group of faithful alumni have always answered the call.

For more than a half-century, the Augsburg A-Club, an organization of former Augsburg student-athletes, has been a vital link for the past, present and future of Auggie athletics. In the 2003-04 school year, the A-Club merged with its companion organization, AWAC (Augsburg Women's Athletic Club), enabling all athletic alumni to be a part of an organization that remains active within the Augsburg family, sharing "Auggie Pride" whenever and wherever they can.

The A-Club has been a key element, either through direct financial support or by providing labor and business expertise, in numerous projects that have benefitted Augsburg athletics in the past. The Edor Nelson athletic field, Si Melby Hall fitness center and renovation project, Hall of Fame display in the Melby Hall lobby and the annual Hall of Fame dinner, locker room improvements and many other projects totalling more than $4 million in value are a direct result of A-Club involvement.

A-Club members enjoy numerous social activities throughout the year. One of the biggest events is the annual Clair Strommen A-Club golf tournament in June. Other events include the Hall of Fame banquet during Homecoming week and alumni gatherings during home athletic events.
