2008 Auggie Award Finalists -- Women's Senior Honor Athlete

Auggie AwardsHere are the four finalists for the Augsburg College Women's Senior Honor Athlete award, to be given at the 2008 Auggie Awards ceremony at the Christensen Center on Monday, April 21. The Honor Athlete Award is the highest honor given to senior student-athletes at Augsburg. To be considered, student-athletes must be senior standing, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, and have shown great achievement in athletics.

4-year letterwinner, 3-year starting libero (back-row specialist) … Played in every match last 3 seasons … Finished career 2nd in school history in career digs (1,580, 4.43 dpg) … finished career 8th in school history in career service aces (99) … Recorded 395 digs sophomore season, 517 digs junior season and 558 digs senior season … Recorded 31 service aces in junior season and 35 senior season … All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team selection in 2007 … Academic All-MIAC in 2005, 2006 and 2007 … ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District third-team in 2006 … Dean’s List honoree.

4-year letterwinner and starter in both soccer and hockey … In soccer, earned All-MIAC honorable-mention honors in 2007 … In hockey, earned All-MIAC first-team honors in 07-08 and honorable-mention honors in 06-07, named to All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team in both 2007 and 2008 … As midfielder in soccer, started 59 of 61 career games with 2 goals and 9 assists for 13 points, starter on teams that qualified for MIAC playoffs all 4 seasons … As defender in hockey, competed in 95 career games, with 12 goals and 23 assists for 35 points … Ranked 18th in school history (5th among defenders) in career points, 24th (4th among defenders) in career goals and 14th (5th among defenders) in career assists … In 2007-08, ranked 6th among MIAC defenders in total points and 2nd in goals … ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first-team in soccer in both 2007 and 2008 … AWCHA Division III National Scholar-Athlete in 2006, 2007 and 2008 … Academic All-MIAC in both sports in 2006, 2007 and 2008 … Team captain in hockey in 06-07 and 07-08, in soccer in 2007 … SAAC member, Leaders in Training member.

4-year letterwinner in both basketball and volleyball … 4-year starter at point guard in basketball, started every one of 98 games the last 4 seasons, averaging 32.9 minutes per-game in career … Set school’s career record for assists (412), eighth in school history in career scoring (966, 9.9 ppg) and 9th in career rebounds (535, 5.5 rpg) … Led MIAC in assists in 07-08 (122 overall, 105 conference) … Recorded 100-plus assists each of last 3 seasons (3 of top 5 single-season totals in school history) … All-MIAC first-team in 07-08, honorable-mention in 06-07 … In volleyball, competed in 92 matches (274 games) as outside hitter, with 426 career kills (1.55 per-game), 293 digs (1.07 per-game), 58 service aces and 45 blocks (five solo) … Ranked 3rd on team in kills in 2007 (222) and 3rd in service aces (39) … Academic All-MIAC in volleyball and basketball last 2 seasons … Dean’s List honoree.

4-year letterwinner in softball, 2-year starter at catcher, also started at 2nd base and 3rd base in career … Has started all 110 games in her career entering 2008 season … Through first 3 seasons, career batting average of .264 (81-of-307), .345 slugging percentage and .303 on-base percentage, with 21 doubles, 2 triples and 35 RBI … Academic All-MIAC in 2006 and 2007 … NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2005 … SAAC member … Sunquist Scholar … Dean’s List honoree.
