ST. PETER, Minn. (5/4/08) -- The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team rallied from deficits in its final at-bats in both games of the doubleheader with visiting Augsburg College on Sunday afternoon, scoring an 8-6 win in the first game and 4-3 win in eight innings in the second game inMinnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball action.

The Gusties (20-16 overall, 12-8 MIAC) rallied from a 6-5 deficit and claimed the win on a two-run, game-winning home run by Shea Roehrkasse in the first game, then used a an RBI single by Robby Wiens and, following a throwing error, an RBI single by Andrew Woitas in the eighth inning to score the second-game win.

Augsburg (16-18 overall, 8-10 MIAC), which was eliminated from contention for the four-team MIAC postseason playoffs with the losses, was led by a 4-for-4 performance, with a double and triple and an RBI, by Craig Henry (SO, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) in the first game. Rick Andersen (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) hit a two-run home run for the Auggies in the first game. Jeff Stomberg (SR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) went 2-for-4, and Donald Blunt (FY, Richfield, Minn.) went 2-for-3 with a triple.

In the second game, Eric Olson (SO, New Prague, Minn.) hit a two-run triple for the Auggies in the second game, going 2-for-4 in the game. James Panning (JR, Gibbon, Minn./Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop HS) went 3-for-4 with a run-scoring double in the eighth inning. Derek Williamson (SO, St. Francis, Minn.) went 2-for-4 with a double in the second game.

Augsburg closes its season with a doubleheader at Concordia-Moorhead on Tuesday (5/6) at 11 a.m.
