Steve Ahlvers (Minnesota State-Mankato '98) is in his first year as Augsburg's assistant athletic trainer. Ahlvers received bachelor's degrees in athletic training and health education-teaching from Minnesota State-Mankato, and his master's degree from Hamline University in 2002.

He began his career with the Minnesota Vikings as an intern (1993-94). He served as an athletic trainer at St. Peter HS and St. Clair HS (1998-99), Hamline University (1999-2001) and Henry Sibley HS (West St. Paul, Minn., 2001-02).

Ahlvers serves on the executive committee of the Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association. He and his wife Pamela live in Woodbury, Minn.
