*Bethany Baker* (Minnesota '00) is in her second season on the Augsburg volleyball coaching staff. After serving as the team's primary assistant coach in 2001, she will serve as a volunteer assistant coach in 2002.

*A native of Saxonburg, Pa., Baker played two seasons of collegiate volleyball at the University of Minnesota, where she was a defensive specialist. While a member of the Gophers (1996, 1997), the Gophers advanced to NCAA national tournament play both seasons, finishing fourth (96) and fifth (97) in the Big Ten and earning a combined record of 47-21. She earned Academic All-Big Ten honors both seasons at Minnesota.

*Baker also serves as a head coach of the Apple Valley Volleyball Club, a Junior Olympic volleyball program in Apple Valley, Minn. The team advanced to national tournament play this season.

*A 1996 graduate of Knoch HS in Saxonburg, she played volleyball, basketball and softball in high school, and was a nmember of the National Honor Society. She graduated from Minnesota in 2000 with a psychology degree.

*Baker works as Minneapolis Coordinator at Admission Possible, an organization that helps make college admission possible for talented, motivated and economically disadvantaged students in Minnesota by providing SAT and ACT test preparation services and admissions and financial aid consulting. In 2000, she worked at Augsburg in the Center for Service, Work and Learning, as an America Reads Program VISTA Volunteer.
