Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Chris Bergstrom
Chris Bergstrom (Minnesota '98) enters his sixth season on the Augsburg staff in 2008, directing the offensive line. He also serves as director of the football team's summer camp program. In 2008, he was named as the college's mens' athletic equipment supervisor. A two-year starter (22 games) at left guard for the Gophers, Bergstrom was named honorable mention All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media in his senior year, 1996, a season in which he was listed among the top offensive guards in the nation in the Sporting News' NFL Draft Preview. He was chosen the team's Offensive Line MVP in six games in his career, and did not give up a sack his senior season. Bergstrom played arena football for four seasons, in the Indoor Football League with the Minnesota Monsters (1998), Duluth Lumberjacks (1999) and Minnesota Purple Rage (2000), and in the AF2 (Arena Football 2) league with the Tulsa Talons in 2001. His prep career included an all-state selection as offensive lineman and a state all-star game appearance from Warroad HS. In 1999-2000, he served as a football assistant coach at Minneapolis Patrick Henry HS. Bergstrom received his bachelor's degree in sociology of law and criminal deviance from Minnesota in 1998. He and his wife Kendra live in Crystal, Minn., and are parents of a son, Charlie.
