A former
standout strong safety and linebacker for the Auggies, Reed
Boltmann (Augsburg '88) enters his fifth season on the Auggies
staff in 2000. Boltmann was the Auggies' running backs coach
in 1996, and moved to the defense to coach linebackers in 1997.
As a player
at Augsburg, Boltmann was a team captain in 1986, All-MIAC second
team selection in 1985 and 1986, four-year letterwinner and three-time
team Most Valuable Player before graduating in 1988. Boltmann
received his master's degree from Mankato State.
A native of
Hamburg, Minn., Boltmann's coaching career has included stints
at Prior Lake, St. Louis Park and Shakopee high schools. He currently
teaches physical education at Shakopee HS. Boltmann lives in
Shakopee, Minn., with his wife, Trisha, and their son
Brock, born June 18, 1998.
