Ryan Dehnel joins the Augsburg
volleyball coaching staff for his fourth season in 2002, his
third as a head coach. Dehnel was an assistant coach in 1999,
and served as a co-head coach with Thanh Pham in 2000.
He assumed solo head coaching duties in 2001, and has a 23-34
career record.
Dehnel, 29,
has been a volleyball coach in the Twin Cities for the last eight
years. He served three years as the head volleyball coach at
Bloomington Kennedy HS and one year as an assistant at Rosemount
HS.
He has also
coached Junior Olympic volleyball for six years in the Northern
Lights program in the Twin Cities. Four of his six Northern Lights
teams advanced to national tournament play. He also has coached
the Minnesota One program for two years, the team's first year
advancing to national tournament play.
A native of
Apple Valley, Minn., Dehnel is currently seeking a degree in
physical education at Augsburg College.
He has played
club men's volleyball for two years at Bemidji State University.
He earned All-NIVC honors as an outside hitter/setter in his
second year at Bemidji State.
Dehnel, who
was married in 2000, lives in Eagan, Minn.
