Mike Elcano (Augsburg '05), one of the top forwards in Augsburg history, enters his second season on the Augsburg men’s soccer coaching staff in 2006 as a volunteer assistant.

Elcano finished his career second in school history in both career points (86) and goals (35), while standing tied for third in career assists (16). His senior season in 2004, Elcano tied a single-season school record with 14 goals, and his 33 points (14 goals, five assists) was the third-most in a single season in school history. Elcano earned All-MIAC first-team honors in 2004 and earned all-conference honorable-mention honors in 2002.

A native of Sparks, Nev. (Bishop Manogue HS), Elcano earned Nevada all-state honors three times in soccer, scoring 40 goals his senior year of high school. Elcano was a finance major at Augsburg.
