Jana Ford (Augsburg '05) enters her first season on the Augsburg women's hockey coaching staff in 2008-09.

Ford was a three-year letterwinner at forward for the Augsburg women's hockey team (2002-05), appearing in 79 career games with seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. In her three seasons, Augsburg went 40-31-8 overall, 30-19-5 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, and appeared in the conference playoffs each of her three years. She earned Academic All-MIAC and American Women's Hockey Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete honors her junior and senior years.

A native of Eagan, Minn., Ford was a team captain and a member of two high school state tournament teams. She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education (math concentration) from Augsburg in 2005, carrying a 3.65 grade-point average. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in elementary education at the University of Minnesota.

Ford is a math teacher at Central Middle School in Columbia Heights, Minn., and also serves as girls' soccer varsity head coach at Columbia Heights High School. She also is head coach for the girls' lacrosse team at Irondale High School in New Brighton, Minn. Ford lives in Minneapolis, Minn.
