Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Paul Grauer
Paul Grauer (Concordia-Neb. '65) has been a part of Augsburg's athletic department staff since 1979. He served the college as men's athletic director from 1988 to 2007. In 2007, as part of a restructuring of the athletic department, Grauer's title was changed to Assistant Athletic Director. Grauer has served the college in various capacities since 1979, when he was hired as the college's men's and women's track and field coach. He served that sport until 1992. From 1979-83, he also served on the college's football coaching staff as offensive coordinator. From 1984-88, Grauer was also the college's sports information director, before being named the men's athletic director in 1988. He has also been an instructor in the college's Health and Physical Education department since 1979. Grauer earned his bachelor's degree in education from Concordia College in Seward, Neb., in 1965. He later earned master's degrees in physical education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Minnesota, and earned his physical education doctorate from Minnesota. Prior to coming to Augsburg, Grauer was an assistant professor and coach at Concordia Junior College (Portland, Ore.), Concordia-St. Paul and Augustana College (Sioux Falls, S.D.). He was the head football coach at Concordia-St. Paul in 1978 and offensive coordinator at Augustana from 1976-77. As a football player at Concordia (Neb.), he earned all-conference honors twice (1963, 1964) and earned team captain, team MVP and Lutheran All-America honorable mention honors in 1964. Grauer and his wife, Judy, live in St. Paul, Minn. The couple has three children -- Walter, Doug and Jeff.
