Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Angie Heisler
Angie Heisler (South Dakota '99) enters her second season as an Augsburg women's basketball assistant coach in 2005-06. A native of St. Peter, Minn., and high school teammate with Augsburg head coach Jennifer Britz, Heisler brings nearly a decade of playing and coaching experience to her duties at Augsburg. A four-year performer for the Coyotes' women's basketball team, Heisler earned All-North Central Conference honors twice. She was the NCC's top rebounder her last two seasons and set a conference record for single-season rebounds with 214. As a junior, Heisler set USD's single-season rebounding mark with 311. She finished her career ranked second all-time in rebounds in school history (889), fourth in steals (213), fifth in blocked shots (52) and 11th in scoring (1,081 points). An education major at USD, she earned Academic All-NCC and North Central Confernece Scholar Athlete honors her senior year, in addition to being named the school's Carl B. Rube Hoy Endowment Award winner for achievement on the playing field and in the classroom. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1999, and later earned her master's degree in teaching and learning from St. Mary's University (Minn.) in 2003. From 1999-2004, Heisler served on the girls' basketball staff at Chaska (Minn.) HS, as assistant varsity coach and B-squad/JV head coach. She has served on the staff of Girls Hoops Inc. basketball camps for the past threeyears, implementing and creating camps in the region. In addition, she has also served as a camp counselor at various camps, including camps at the College of St. Benedict. Since 1999, Heisler has worked as a physical education teacher in the Chaska School District, serving on a variety of school district committees and boards. Heisler lives in Chaska, Minn.
