Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Todd Hendricks Football
Assistant Coach (Wide Receivers/Special Teams)
Hendricks has coached football at the high school, collegiate and adult amateur level for more than a decade. From 2002-04, he served as head coach at Wabasso (Minn.) HS, where he produced a 22-10 record and a Section 5A title and berth in the state tournament semifinals in 2003. He was named Coach of the Year for Section 5A and Southwest Minnesota area that season. His teams also excelled academically, earning Section 5A academic team champion honors in each of his three seasons and team academic state champion honors in 2004. From 2000-06, he also served as head coach and general manager of the Alexandria Mustangs, an adult amateur team in the Great Plains Football League. His teams won GPFL and Upper Midwest Region titles in 2000 and 2002, and reached the league's playoffs six times. He was named GPFL Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2002, and was named Minor League Football National General Manager of the Year in 2000. He was inducted into the National Minor League Football Hall of Fame in 2004. He has also served as an assistant coach at Osakis HS (1993-98, 2000), Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City HS (2006) and at Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minn. (2001). He has also coached youth basketball and baseball at various levels. As a player, Hendricks earned all-conference honors as a wide receiver/running back at Fergus Falls Community College (1987-88) and at the University of Mary (N.D.) (1990-91). He also competed in basketball for one season at Alexandria Technical College (1992-93). He played professionally in Austria with the Vienna Rangers (1993, 1995-97, 2000) of the Austrian National Football League, earning the league's Player of the Year honors in 1995. A native of Alexandria, Minn., Hendricks has served as a substitute teacher since 1999 at several schools. He earned his bachelor's degree in physical education/health (coaching minor) from the University of Mary in 2000. He and his wife Laura have three children -- Alex, Kendra and Mason, and live in Atwater, Minn.
