Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Zafer Kilickan
Zafer Kilickan (Marmara-Turkey '99), a midfielder with the Minnesota Thunder professional soccer team for the past five seasons, joins the Augsburg women's soccer coaching staff for his third season in 2006. Kilickan, a native of Istanbul, Turkey, played professional soccer for 13 seasons in his native country before coming to America in 2002 to play with the Minnesota Thunder. Kilickan has also served as a coach for the Thunder's summer camps and the team's winter indoor Pro-Am league for the past five years. He currently serves as the Thunder's director of camps. He is also the director of coaching for the Minneapolis United Soccer Club. Kilickan also serves as a youth girls' soccer coach in White Bear Lake, Minn. He is currently the head coach of White Bear Lake's U17 team that won the Minnesota state cup in 2004 and Minnesota Premier League title in 2005. He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation "B" coaching license.
