Terry Kunze (Minnesota '65), one of the most recognized names in Minnesota basketball history, will enter his fourth season as an Augsburg assistant coach in 2004-05, in charge of scouting this season.

Kunze was a three-year player on the Gopher basketball team in the mid-60s, averaging 11.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. He led the Gophers in free-throw shooting in 1962-63 and 1963-64. He later played professionally in the NBA, ABA and in Europe. He was a seventh-round pick of St. Louis of the NBA in 1965.

His coaching career has taken him to several stops, including as an assistant at Minnesota, coaching the Minnesota Fillies women's pro team in the late '70s, coaching in Europe and as a head coach at Anoka-Ramsey Community College from 1990-96.

He was a member of a state high school championship team at Duluth Central HS in 1961.
