Mike Lavalle enters his eighth season as an Augsburg assistant coach. Lavalle has worked with both the varsity and junior varsity teams at Augsburg during his tenure.

A 1987 graduate of Hill-Murray HS, he has served as a head coach for several levels of youth and high school age hockey, including stints with the White Bear Lake Hockey Association and the Hill-Murray based A & L Pioneer hockey program. Prior to coming to Augsburg, he was the head coach and assistant general manager for the East Metro Lakers Junior B team for four years. He coached the Lakers squad to a national championship in his final year there from 1995-99.

Lavalle has also served as an instructor with the Pro Edge Power Skating and Hockey school for the past six years, working with mite to high school players. Lavalle is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Metro State University in St. Paul, Minn. Mike and his wife, Jessica, have two children, Zach and Haley, and live in Oakdale, Minn.
