Dan Lewandowski (Augsburg '97), one of only five Augsburg wrestlers to ever win two national championships, joins the Auggie coaching staff for his fourth season in 2001-02. Lewandowski qualified for four national tournaments, earned three All-American honors and won national titles in 1996 and 1997, both at 190 pounds. Lewandowski, who completed his career with a record of 126-43, also won two MIAC individual titles (1996, 1997) and earned the Rory Jordan Award in 1996 for the most pins in the least amount of time (three in 6:16) at the MIAC tournament. Lewandowski, a native of Hastings, Minn., graduated from Augsburg with a computer science major, and also played soccer for the Auggies. Both of his siblings were also Augsburg student athletes; brother Nik won a national title last season in wrestling and now is also an assistant wrestling coach, and sister Teresa was a four-year cross country and track and field athlete.
