Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Steve Lydon
Steve Lydon (Minnesota) enters his first season on the Augsburg football staff in 2008, serving as wide receivers coach. Augsburg is Lydon's third coaching stop in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference; he was a receivers coach at Hamline in 2006 and an offensive line coach at St. Olaf in 2004 and 2005. He also served from 2000 to 2003 as offensive line coach at Division II Concordia-St. Paul. In 2003, the Golden Bears won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and played in the Mineral Water Bowl. Last season, Lydon served as head coach for the Normandale Community College club football program, while also coaching youth football in the Edina (Minn.) Football Association. Prior to his college coaching career, Lydon servved as an assistant coach at Edina HS in 1998 and as offensive coordinator at St. Bernard's HS in 1999. Lydon works full-time for Northwest Airlines and lives in Edina with his wife Jane and children Tim, Tess and Zoe.
