Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Frank Marchio
Frank Marchio (Hamline '02) enters his second season as assistant coach for the Augsburg track and field and cross country programs in the 2005-06 school year. Marchio has served as a track and cross country coach since 2002. In his career, Marchio has coached eight All-Americans, 17 national tournament qualifiers, eight conference champions, 39 all-conference athletes, and his athletes have earned 13 school records and two conference records. In 2002-03, Marchio served as a graduate assistant track and field coach at Gustavus Adolphus College, then served in a similar capacity at Minnesota State University, Mankato in the 2003-04 school year. In the fall of 2004, Marchio was an assistant cross country coach at the College of St. Catherine. The Wildcats finished with their best MIAC finish in four years in 2004. In the spring of 2005, Marchio began coaching on Dennis Barker's track and field staff at Augsburg. A native of St. Paul, Minn., Marchio was a co-captain of the Hamline track and field team and was a multiple all-conference athlete for the Pipers. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Hamline in 2002, and finished his coursework for his master's degree in sports psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2004. In his high school career at St. Paul Johnson HS, Marchio earned school records in the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and as a member of the 400-meter relay.
