Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Ian McCallum
Ian McCallum (Abertay Dundee - Scotland '01), the director of coach and player development for the Coon Rapids (Minn.) Soccer Association, will serve as an assistant coach for the Augsburg College women's soccer team for his first season in 2007. McCallum, a native of the Isle of Bute, Scotland, moved to Minnesota in April 2006 to take his current position as director of coach and player development with the Coon Rapids Soccer Association. While in Minnesota, he has joined the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association's State Olympic Development Program staff and acts as an instructor for the MYSA's Coach Education Courses. He also works with the Minnesota Thunder's youth summer camp programs. Prior to moving to Minnesota, McCallum worked with the Scottish Football Association as an assistant development officer, as an assistant coach for the Hanover College (Ind.) men's soccer program, as a regional director for the United Soccer Academy, and as girls' soccer coach at Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Bridgewater, N.J. McCallum graduated from the University of Abertay Dundee in Scotland in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in sports coaching with sport development. He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation 'B' and National Youth License, and National Soccer Coaches Association of America Premier, National Advanced, National and Director of Coaching diplomas. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Erin, and son, Finn.
