Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Tom Peart
Tom Peart (St. Cloud State ‘82) enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Augsburg women’s hockey team in 2007-08. Peart has been active in hockey for the past three decades, as a player and as a coach. For four seasons (1999-2003), he was the women’s hockey head coach at the College of St. Benedict, where he compiled a 40-54-5 record. He also served as an assistant coach for the Blazers from 1997-99. Peart spent the 1995-96 season as a men’s hockey assistant coach at Augsburg. He has also been active in work with USA Hockey in Minnesota. Peart has also coached both boys’ and girls’ hockey on the high school level. In 2003-04, he served as girls’ hockey coach at Gilmour Academy High School in Ohio. He also served as head coach for the Minneapolis Roosevelt HS boys’ team (1989-94) and the Buffalo-Wright County girls’ team (1997-99). At Roosevelt, he earned Section 5 Coach of the Year honors in 1991 and Minneapolis City Conference Coach of the Year honors in 1993. An Alexandria, Minn., native, Peart played collegiately at Mesabi Community College (1977-78) and St. Cloud State University (1978-81). He earned his bachelor’s degree in speech communication and secondary education from St. Cloud State in 1982 and a second degree in health and physical education from Augsburg in 1989.
