Jessica Rinehart (Hillsdale '00) is entering her third season as Augsburg's volleyball head coach in 2007. She also serves as an instructor in Augsburg's health and physical education department.

In her two seasons at Augsburg, the Auggies have shown strong improvement. In 2006, the Auggies finished 11-17 overall, the most wins for an Auggie squad since 2001.

Prior to joining the Auggies, Rinehart served as head coach for two seasons at Morningside College, an NAIA school in Sioux City, Iowa. She compiled a 47-30 career record (.610) at Morningside. The Mustangs finished 24-17 in 2003 and 23-13 in 2004, capping the school's first-ever stretch of three straight 20-win seasons in volleyball. She guided the Mustangs to their first-ever Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament berth, a fifth-place conference finish and a top-10 regional ranking.

Prior to coaching at Morningside, Rinehart served as a graduate assistant coach and physical education instructor for two seasons (2001-2002) at Division I Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., and as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich., in the 2000 season. Rinehart has also served as a head coach for Junior Olympic elite-level club teams in Nebraska/Iowa (Nebraska Elite) and central Michigan (Valley Volleyball). She currently also serves as head coach for the Club Tonka 17-Black junior team.

As a player at Hillsdale, an NCAA Division II team in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Rinehart was a three-year starter at outside hitter, earning GLIAC All-Academic Team honors her final three seasons.

A native of Red Oak, Iowa, Rinehart earned all-conference, Southwest Iowa Volleyball Athlete of the Year and Class 2A All-State first-team honors her senior season (1995), as Red Oak earned its first-ever state tournament appearance and reached the state semifinals. In 2007, she was inducted into the Red Oak High School Hall of Fame.

Rinehart earned her bachelor's degree in speech and theatre from Hillsdale in 2000, graduating cum laude. She earned her master's degree in physical education/athletic administration from Central Michigan in 2004, graduating cum laude.
