Nate Schlieman (Utah '05) enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Auggies in 2007. Schlieman will work with the team's catchers and hitters.

A 2005 graduate of the University of Utah, Schlieman most recently served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Burnsville (Minn.) High School under head coach Wayne "Mick" Scholl, an Augsburg alum who was recently named to the Augsburg Athletic Hall of Fame.

A catcher, he initially attended Highland Community College (Kansas) before transferring to Eckerd College (Fla.), where he redshirted his sophomore season. He played the 2003 and 2004 seasons at Division I Utah, competing in 44 games (starting 34) with 16 runs scored, four doubles, one triple, one home run and 13 runs batted in during his two seasons with the Utes.

Schlieman was an undergraduate assistant coach at Utah in 2005, and has served as an instructor with the Solid Foundation Baseball Program and as head coach of the Burnsville Junior Legion team. He is a teacher at Metcalf Junior High in Burnsville.
