Augsburg College Athletics Staff -- Eric Singer
Eric Singer (Concordia-Moorhead '00) enters his third season as an Augsburg College men's soccer assistant coach in 2006. Singer holds a USSF 'D' license and NSCAA Level II GK Diploma, and acts as a staff member for the Minnesota Olympic Development Program. Aside from his coaching role at Augsburg, Singer is the staff coach for the Bangu Tsunami Football Club. This past year, Singer coached the Bangu U-16 girls to the Minnesota State Cup championship and a top-15 national ranking. He is also a school psychologist for St. Anthony-New Brighton School District at Wilshire Park Elementary School. Singer has been a soccer coach since 2000, serving as an assistant girls' coach at Fargo (N.D.) North HS for five seasons. Fargo North had an unbeaten season in 2002 and were state runners-up in 2001 and 2003. He served as an assistant coach for the women's program at Minnesota State-Moorhead from 2000-2002, and was a men's soccer assistant coach at his alma mater, Concordia-Moorhead, in the 2003 season. On the youth level, he has coached in Bloomington, Minn., and Fargo, N.D. His Fargo Red River U-19 Premier Girls club won the 2003 North Dakota state title. A four-year starter at Concordia-Moorhead (1996-1999), Singer earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors three straight years at three different positions -- defense his sophomore year, midfield his junior season and forward his senior year, also earning all-region honors his senior season. Concordia won the MIAC title and advanced to the NCAA Division III round of 16 during his freshman year, while finishing second in the conference his sophomore season. As a prep soccer player at Robbinsdale Armstrong HS, Singer earned all-state honors his senior year, all-conference honors three seasons, and team MVP honors twice. Singer earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Concordia in 2000, earned a second bachelor’s degree in social studies education from Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2002, and earned his master’s degree in school psychology from MSU-Moorhead in 2004 as well as a specialist degree in 2005. Singer lives in Columbia Heights, Minn.
