Don Wichmann (Augsburg '89), an All-American and
three-time MIAC champion at Augsburg, is starting his 13th season
on the coaching staff in 2001-02. Wichmann serves as the wrestling
program's technique coach. As a competitor, Wichmann won 137
matches and earned All-America honors in 1989. He won MIAC titles
in 1986 (142), 1987 (142) and 1989 (150), earning tournament
MVP honors three times. He earned a degree in marketing and management
from Augsburg, and was named the school's senior Honor Athlete
in 1989. Wichmann has been the director of marketing and assistant
manager at Gopher Stage Lighting in Minneapolis for nine years,
while also owning his own business as a distributor for Brute/Adidas
wrestling products. Wichmann lives in Minneapolis with his wife,
Mindy.
