Julie (Schrock) Wicklund
(Eastern (Pa.) '01) joins the Auggie volleyball coaching staff for her first season in 2002. She will serve as the Auggies' junior varsity coach.

Wicklund was a three-time All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference first-team selection as a setter at Eastern University (St. Davids, Pa.), which won the PAC title all four years of her tenure, qualifying for the NCAA Division III national tournament in 1999 and 2000. Eagles teams she played on finished with a 96-36 overall record, including a remarkable 47-1 in the PAC. Teams she played for went a perfect 40-0 at home, and her squads never lost a game in match wins in postseason conference tournament play.

A four-year starter, Wicklund earned PAC Player of the Year honors and was PAC Player of the Week twice in 2000 (four times in her career). She finished her career with 3,740 assists (a school record), 1,422 digs, 410 kills, 181 blocks and 169 service aces. She had three "triple-doubles" (assists-kills-digs) in her career. She also holds school records for single-match (63) and single-season (1,177) assists.

A native of Somerset, Pa., Wicklund graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in English for secondary education from Eastern in 2001. She was a Dean's List and Leadership Grant Program selection all four years at Eastern, was selected to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and earned Eastern's Barnabas Servant Leadership Award in 2000, an award presented to just four seniors who represent outstanding servant leadership.

Wicklund served as a substitute teacher and JV volleyball head coach at Conestoga HS in Berwyn, Pa., during the 2001-02 school year. She also taught in 2001 at Downingtown, Pa., Middle School and coached the school's track team.

Wicklund, 23, married Dave Wicklund, a Minneapolis native and teacher, in August 2002, and the couple lives in St. Paul, Minn. She currently teaches English at Como Park HS in St. Paul.
