John Yunker will serve in his first season as an Augsburg College volleyball assistant coach in 2005.

During the 2004-05 school year, Yunker served as an assistant coach for the volleyball and women's hockey programs at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The Pointer volleyball team finished 21-14 in 2004, while the women's hockey team finished 22-3-1 in 2004-05, winning the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season and playoff titles, advancing to the NCAA Division III national tournament.

Yunker has served as a coach for the Minnesota Select volleyball club for two years. He previously coached the Club Tonka volleyball team for six years, and has been on the high school volleyball coaching staffs at Wayzata (Minn.), Osseo and Benilde-St. Margaret. He also currently serves an assistant coach for the Wayzata High School softball team, after previously serving as junior varsity girls' hockey and softball coach there.

A native of Osseo, Minn., Yunker attended North Hennepin Community College. He currently lives in Maple Grove, Minn.
