STORY FROM ST. OLAF SPORTS INFORMATION

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (1/21/06) -- Mark Bergstrom (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) had a career-high 24 points, leading the St. Olaf College men's basketball team to a 69-60 win over visiting Augsburg College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday at St. Olaf's Skoglund Center.

The Oles (6-10 overall, 4-7 MIAC) used a 12-0 run from the 8:01 to the 1:32 mark of the second half to seal the win, their second straight.

Darren Nelson (So., Richfield, Minn.) had 16 points and Dan Graf (Jr., Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) had 13 points and 14 rebounds, for his first double-double of the season, to pace Augsburg (3-12 overall, 2-9 MIAC), which has now lost six straight games and nine of its last 10. Justin Kozlowski (So., Wausau, Wis./Wausau Newman HS) had 13 points.

St. Olaf's Jon Bain (Jr., Austin, Minn.) recorded his second double-double in a row, gathering 15 points and 11 rebounds. Steve Banick (So., Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) had six assists and no turnovers. The Oles had a season-low seven giveaways in the win.

Bergstrom was 9-of-12 from the field and 2-3 on 3-pointers.

St. Olaf has now won three in a row in the series.

Augsburg returns to MIAC play on Wednesday (1/25) at 8 p.m. with a game at St. Mary's. The Oles host St. John's on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
