MIAC Men's Golf Championships Schedule -- Tee-off times

Golfing starts at 8:20 a.m.
Team positions are re-ordered based on first-day finish, according to MIAC rules; 10-9-8th places will go first, followed by 7-6-5 and 4-3-2-1. Golfers will be set in 1-5 positions based on scoring from the first day.

MIAC Men's Golf Championship Rules

FROM 2001-02 MIAC POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL
Revised August 2001 MEN'S GOLF

1.0-ADMINISTRATION OF SPORT
1.1-PERSONNEL AND JOB DESCRIPIION:
HOW SELECTED:
The chairperson is the coach of the host school for the conference tournament. The host school rotates alphabetically according to the first letter of the school name. The host school in 2000 is St. Thomas. The recorder is the coach of the host school for the following year. (revised 12/99) LENGTH OF TERM: One (1) year. HOW REPLACED: Should the chair position be vacated, the recorder would serve as chair until the group meets for another election.
1.2-DUTIES OF CHAIRPERSON: The chairperson shall call for agenda items, organize and conduct the annual meeting. The chairperson will bring to the conference tournament the trophy for the team champion as well as the certificates for all-conference players. The conference commissioner will deliver these to the chairperson no later than Sept. 15. (revised 12/99)
1.3-DUTIES OF RECORDER: The recorder will take the minutes of the meeting and distribute the minutes to the coaches and to the liaison Athletic Director. The recorder will also provide copies of the "Motion Worksheets" to ALL Athletic Directors.
1.4-DUTIES OF LIAISON: To make sure the chair and recorder are elected and assume their duties. To represent the Athletic Directors at the coaches meeting. To represent the coaches at the Athletic Directors meeting by presenting minutes and action items to the Athletic Directors. The Liaison shall also be respcnsible for completion of an annual report on the sport season.
1.5-TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: The host institution shall be responsible for providing the tournament Director. (revised 1995)
1.6-DATE, TIME, PLACE OF MEETINGS: The annual meeting will be held in conjunction with the Conference golf meet, 2 hours prior to the first tee time on Day 1. (revised 12/00)

2.0-SPORTS SEASON
2.1-TRADITIONAL SEASON:
The traditional season is in the fall. (revised 4/92)
2.1.1-PRACTICE GUIDELINES: The starting date for men's and women's golf is August 24. (revised 8/95, added 4/92)
2.1.2-FIRST DATE FOR COMPETITION: September I st or preceding Friday if September 1st falls on a Saturday or Sunday. (revised 5/94, added 4/92)
2.2-NON TRADITIONAL SEASON: The non-traditional season is in the spring and may not start before February 1. A record of the dates for both the traditional and non-
traditional season must be on file in the athletic director's office and mailed to the Executive Director. These two distinct segments maynot exceed a total of 21 weeks. (added 4/92)
2.3-NUMBER OF VARSITY CONTESTS: The varsity schedule shall not exceed twenty (20) dates, exclusive of the MIAC Championship Tournarnent. An event against alumni/ae will not be counted toward the maximum number of events allowed. (added 4/92, revised 12/99)
2.4-CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT: To be held the first or second weekend in October, no later than October 20th. (revised 1995)
2.5-SCHEDULING POLICY: Assumed by coaches at each institution (revised 1995)
2.5.1-LAST DATE FOR CONFERENCE COMPETITION: NCAA Division III National Championship.
2.6-POSTPONEMENT/RESCHEDULING, ETC.: Postponement and rescheduling during the regular season shall be up to the discretion of the coaches. MIAC tournament play will be postponed if extreme weather conditions exist. If weather causes further postponement beyond October 20 the tournament will be held in the Spring. (revised 1995)

3.0-GAME/MATCH/MEET/CONDUCT
3.1 STARTING TIMES:
3.2 RULES UNDER WHICH CONTEST IS PLAYED:

3.2.1 U.S.G.A rules govern all meets. (revised 1989)
3.2.2 Local rules adhered to when necessary.
3.2.3 Local pro will make final decision regarding rules whenever possible. (revised 1989)
3.2.4 No one from any team is allowed on the course prior to the start of competition on the day of competition. Competition begins for each player when he tees off. Coaches are permitted on the course only after their first player has teed off. (added 12/99)
3.3-S1TE PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS:
3.4-HOME TEAM SHALL PROVIDE:
The Host coach shall provide meeting place on the information and registration sheet sent to the coaches. (revised 1995)
3.5-VISITING TEAM SHALL PROVIDE:
3.6-TRAVEL SQUAD SIZE:
3.7-VIDEO/MOVIE POLICIES:
3.8-PRESS BOX PROCEDURES/ASSIGNMENTS:
The host coach shall report official scores to GolfStat and send the final score reports to all participating schools and the conference office. (revised 1995)

4.0-GAME OFFICIALS
5.0-MIAC/NCAA STATISTICS, ETC.
6.0-DETERMINATION OF CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
6.1-HOW DECIDED:
Two day tournament (36 holes) with all conference teams competing together on the same day. A minimum of 27 holes are to be played. Twenty-seven (27) holes could be played in one day if weather permits. This procedure would be used in extreme cases only and not in formal formatting of the tournament. (revised 1995)
6.2-TIE-BREAKER PROCEDURE: In case of a tie for the conference champion the score of the teams fifth player on the final day will break the tie. If the tie continues there will be co-team champions. (revised 12/99, 12/96)
6.3-PROCEDURE FOR EVENT: Total strokes for four (4) best scores each day will determine the MIAC champion. (revised 1989)
6.3.1 Each squad is limited to five (5) players for the MIAC conference tournament. (revised 12/99, 12/96)
6.3.2 All teams must be accompanied by a coach or a school official.
6.3.3 Teams are required to qualify for the MIAC golf championship by scheduling a minimum of three tournament dates prior to the championship event.
6.3.4 The schedule for both days ofthe MIAC Golf Championship will follow the following format:
Day 1: #5 players from teams finished 10,9,8 from previous fall.
#5 players from teams finishing 7,6,5 from previous fall.
#5 players from teams finishing 4,3,2,1 from previous year.
Then continue the same format for #4s, 3s, 2s and 1s from each team. The same format will be followed for team order on the second day with teams being re-ordered based on their finish after the 1st day of competition. Teams will also reorder their own team's order with the highest scores from Day I playing #5; second -highest playing #4, etc. (added 5/97, revised 12/00, 12/99)
6.4-ADMISSION:
6.5-RULES COMMITTEE:
The rules committee shall be composed of the coach of the host school, the previous year's host coach, and the following year's host coach. (revised 12/9/1995)

The Official MIAC trophy shall be presented to the championship team. Duplicate trophies awarded in event of a tie.
8.2-COACH OF THE YEAR: On May 1, the recorder will solicit nominations for Coach of the Year. The recorder will collect the nominations and forward them to all coaches. The recorder will compile the votes and release the name of the Coach of the Year by May 8th. (revised 12/00, 1995)
8.3-MIAC Player of the Year: On May I the recorder will solicit nominations for player of the year. Each coach will submit a maximum of two (2) names of players from their own school, with accompanying statistics and/or a paragraph of supporting testimony. The recorder will collect the nomination and forward the names and supporting materials to all the coaches, who will then rank the players from first to last. The recorder will compile the votes and release the name of the player of the year by May 8th. The award will be purchased by the recipient's institution. (revised 12/00, 12/99, 5/97)
8.4-MIAC Freshman of the Year: On May I the recorder will solicit nominations for freshman of the year. Each coach will submit a maximum of two (2) names of players
from their own school, with accompanying statistics and/or a paragraph of supporting testimony. The recorder will collect the nomination and forward the names and supporting materials to all the coaches, who will then rank the players from first to last. The recorder will compile the votes and release the name of the freshman of the year by May 8th. The awards will be voted on by all golf coaches and awarded in the spring. The award will be purchased by the recipient's institution. (revised 12/00, added 12/99)

9.0-ALL CONFERENCE TEAM SELECTIONS
To be determined by the top ten scores at the MIAC Championship. MIAC All-Conference Certificates will be awarded to the top ten (10). (revised 12/00, 95)
