MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/8/08) -- Dan Carlson (SR, Roseville, Minn.) scored four goals and assisted on another, figuring in five of Augsburg College's six goals in a 6-3 triumph over host Concordia College-Moorhead in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey contest on Friday night at the Moorhead Youth Rink.

Carlson claimed his first collegiate hat trick and second collegiate multi-goal game with a career-best five-point night for Augsburg (4-14-2 overall, 2-9-0 MIAC). Jim Jensen (FY, Plymouth, Minn./Osseo HS) and Kellen Chamblee (JR, Falcon Heights, Minn./Roseville HS) also scored goals, and Mario Mjelleli (FY, Faribault, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had two assists for the Auggies.

In all, eight different Auggies figured in the scoring. Kurt Hogard (JR, Thunder Bay, Ontario/St. Ignatius HS), Chris Johnson (SO, Verona, Wis./Madison Memorial HS), Brett Way (JR, Grand Ledge, Mich.) and Cory Ellertson (FY, Albert Lea, Minn.) added assists.

Cory Johnson scored two goals for Concordia (1-18-1 overall, 0-10-1 MIAC), with Michael Weiss adding the other goal and Ryan Cluckey adding two assists.

Concordia outshot Augsburg by a 46-38 margin, but Augsburg goalie Andrew Kent (JR, Lakeville, Minn.) claimed a season-high 43 saves in goal to pick up the victory. Jeremy Boniface collected 32 saves for the Cobbers.

The teams complete the MIAC series on Saturday (2/9) at 2 p.m., in Moorhead.
