MINNEAPOLIS (10/11/05) -- Andrew Connor (So., Becket, Mass./North Muskegon (Mich.) HS) and Alec Rabine (So., St. Louis Park, Minn.) scored two goals apiece to lead Augsburg College to a 6-1 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer game on Tuesday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

Augsburg pulled away from a 1-1 halftime tie with a five-goal second half, including a three-goal streak in a 1:03 span late in the game, to improve to 5-8-1 overall, 2-3-1 in MIAC play. Concordia dropped its ninth game in a row to fall to 1-10-0 overall, 0-8-0 in MIAC play.

The Cobbers scored first, as Sylvester Ndhlovu (Sr., Harare, Zimbabwe/HGIC) scored on a rebound on a shot from Caleb Husmann (Jr., Rochester, Minn./Century HS) and Judd Mann (Sr., Hastings, Minn.) in the 30th minute.

Rabine tied the game for the Auggies in the 42nd minute on a penalty kick goal after a Concordia player committed a handball violation in the penalty box.

Connor scored twice in the first 20 minutes of the second half, the first goal off a corner kick by Ryan Kitzman (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS) in the 52nd minute, and the second in front off a feed from Andrew Seidel (Fr., Woodbury, Minn.) in the 65th minute.

With five minutes remaining, Augsburg poured on three goals in a 63-second span. Kitzman scored on a rebound from a shot by Aaron Riedel (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS); senior defender Geoff Johnson (Sr., Blaine, Minn.) scored his first collegiate goal on assists from Seidel and Connor; and Rabine scored on a one-timer from D.J. Wendell (Fr., Princeton, Minn./Charles M. Russell (Mont.) HS).

Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 28-12 margin. Rabine had six shots for Augsburg, while Riedel and Connor had four shots apiece and Seidel had three. Ndhlovu had five shots for the Cobbers, with Matt Klein (So., Fergus Falls, Minn.) and Ryan Elling (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) contributing two shots each.

Dustin Pattengale (So., Moorhead, Minn.) made 10 saves in goal for the Cobbers, while Evan Fuhs (Fr., Woodbury, Minn.) made three saves for Augsburg.
