Augsburg's Andrew Womeldorf named MIAC Men's Golfer of the Week for second time this spring MIAC MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK -- CLICK HERE
Womeldorf shot a 1-under-par 71 to claim medalist honors in his final collegiate golf competition, as the Augsburg men's golf team scored a 304-315 dual-meet victory over Concordia-Moorhead last week at the Links at Northfork in Ramsey, Minn. He shared the MIAC's weekly honor with sophomore Sean Barrett of St. Thomas. Womeldorf led the way for the Auggies during the 2007-08 season with a career-best 77.40 season-long stroke average, including a team-best 75.0 average in the spring half of the season. In his four seasons of golf, Womeldorf finished with a 78.24 career stroke average (6,494 strokes in 83 rounds). Womeldorf earned All-MIAC honors in 2005 with a fifth-place finish at the conference meet. He finished 23rd at this past fall's MIAC meet. Under third-year head coach Ted Vickerman, Augsburg finished with a stroke average of 315.65 for the 2007-08 season, including a 310.43 average in the spring half of the season.
