18 Augsburg student-athletes named Academic All-MIAC for winter sports

MINNEAPOLIS (6/27/08) -- A total of 18 Augsburg College student-athletes earned Academic All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors from winter and spring sports, it was announced on Friday by the conference.

Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior (transfers must have spent a full year at their current school) with a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition. Athletically, student-athletes in basketball, hockey, baseball and softball must compete in 50 percent of their team’s varsity regular season contests. Swimming and diving and track and field student-athletes must qualify for conference finals to be eligibile.

Academic All-MIAC honors for fall sports were announced in January. A total of 25 Augsburg fall sport student-athletes earned Academic All-MIAC recognition.
