Adamson tied for the team lead in tackles with 10 (seven solo), including two tackles for loss, a sack and a pass break-up against the Pipers, helping the Auggies improve to 4-0 on the season. His sack came at a key time in Saturday's game, as Hamline drove to the Augsburg 5-yard line in the closing minutes. On a third-down play from the Augsburg 5, Adamson sacked Hamline quarterback James Leary for a 12-yard loss, back to the Augsburg 17. On the next play, the Pipers missed a potential game-tying 34-yard field goal with 13 seconds left, securing the Auggie win. On the season, Adamson stands third on the team in tackles with 27 (12 solo). In his two seasons at Augsburg (he transferred from St. John's before the 2007 season), he has 128 tackles (59 solo), with five interceptions and four pass break-ups. It is the third time an Auggie has been named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week this season; wide receiver Royce Winford (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) was named to the squad on Sept. 17, and quarterback Jordan Berg (SR, Gaylord, Minn./Sibley East HS) was named to the squad on Oct. 1. With the win over the Pipers, the Auggies 4-0 for the first time since the 1973 season (Augsburg started 5-0 en route to a 7-2 overall finish). This Saturday at 1 p.m., Augsburg travels to face Carleton, also 4-0 to start the season.
