Augsburg's Nick Manders, James See, Kelsey Duerr, Cassidy Duerr receive All-MIAC men's soccer honors 2007 MIAC MEN'S SOCCER AWARDS -- CLICK HERE
Manders and See were named to the first team, while Kelsey Duerr was named an honorable-mention all-conference selection. Cassidy Duerr was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. A defender, Manders led the Auggies in scoring this season with seven goals and two assists for 16 points, including three game-winning goals. Manders transferred to Augsburg in 2006 after spending his first two seasons at the University of Minnesota. In 35 Augsburg games (27 starts), he claimed 11 goals and three assists for 25 points, including four game-winning goals. Earlier this season, Manders was also named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 first team. A health and physical education major with a 3.90 grade-point average, Manders earned MIAC Academic All-Conference honors last season. It's the second straight year that See has earned All-MIAC first-team honors. This season, he claimed one assist in 16 games played. In his three seasons at Augsburg (49 games, 43 starts, he has one goal and four assists for six points. Kelsey Duerr earned All-MIAC honorable-mention honors for the first time in his career. A versatile player at both defense and forward, Duerr finished second on the team in scoring, with four goals and two assists for 10 points, including two game-winning goals. In two seasons at Augsburg (34 games, 30 starts), Duerr has eight goals and five assits for 21 points, including four game-winning goals. Cassidy Duerr, an All-MIAC first-team selection in 2005, was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team for the second straight year. The All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team is a part of the conference's sportsmanship initiative. Members are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition. Duerr claimed one assist, his first collegiate point, in nine games played this year. He has appeared in 45 games (38 starts) in three seasons on the Auggie defense. Under third-year head coach Greg Holker, the Auggie men's soccer team finished 9-9-0 overall, 5-5-0 in MIAC play this season.
