When you arrive at Augsburg (fan parking/seating)
Parking is generally available on the city streets
around the Augsburg campus. On-street parking on Riverside Avenue is
metered 24 hours a day; street parking elsewhere around campus is posted
for one- , two- or four-hour limits. Pay close attention to the signs
where you park, as the streets around campus are frequently patrolled
by the city traffic squads.
Pay parking is also available in the University
of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview "Red" and/or "Yellow" ramps, located across Riverside Avenue from Si Melby
Hall and the Augsburg Ice Arena. The ramps are often the best alternative
to avoiding the parking crunch of on-street parking on gamedays. University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview Riverside parking map is available online:
http://www.augsburg.edu/athletics/images/FUMC-Riverside-map.pdf
Lots on the Augsburg campus are reserved 24 hours
a day for permit-holders only (check the signs at the lot entrance),
though some general parking lots (like
Lot L at the intersection of Butler Place and 25th Avenue South on the campus map)
are open for game events. Check with the Augsburg Public Safety
department at 612-330-1717 for parking information and special parking permits. Also, check the athletic web site for special parking deals that are
often instituted before major on-campus athletic events.
Visiting fan seating at Edor Nelson Field for
football and men's/women's soccer is on the east bleachers. For softball,
there is no designated visiting fan seating area.
Visiting fan seating at Augsburg Ice Arena
for men's/women's hockey is on the north end of the bleachers (the area
closest to the main entrance).
Visiting fan seating at Si Melby Hall for men's
basketball is directly behind the visiting team bench on the northeast
end of the arena. For women's basketball, it is directly behind the
visiting team bench on the northwest end of the arena. For wrestling,
visiting fan seating is on the northeast end of the arena. For volleyball,
visiting fan seating is on the southeast end of the arena.
Admission/Tickets
Nearly all sports at Augsburg charge admission
-- $6 for adults and $3 for students (all children under 18 and
college students with ID); Baseball (at Parade Stadium) and cross country
(at Riverside Park) do not charge admission. Augsburg faculty, staff
and students (with ID) are admitted free to all Augsburg regular-season
athletic events. Augsburg A-Club/AWAC, NCAA, MIAC and Minnesota High
School Coaches Association passes are accepted at the door.
There are no advance ticket sales for Augsburg
regular-season athletic events; all tickets are available at the door
and are general admission.
Postseason athletic events (MIAC/NCAA) held
at Augsburg have different admission policies, the most important being
that ALL individuals, including Augsburg faculty, staff and students,
must pay for admission, and most passes are not accepted (depending
on tournament policy). Ticket prices for postseason events will be announced
and available on the web before the event.
Locker
Rooms
For events at Si Melby Hall/Edor Nelson Field:
Locker rooms are available two hours before game time, at halftime and
after the game for showers. A locker room will be assigned to you by
an Augsburg representative. You will be issued a code for entry to the
locker rooms (code-entry lock system). Locker rooms will be secured;
however, please be responsible for your own valuables. Bring your own
locks, as the locker rooms are accessible to anyone who has the codes
for the code-entry lock system. Towels will NOT be provided. A table
for taping (bring your own athletic tape and other athletic training
supplies) and a chalkboard will be available in the locker room.
For men's/women's hockey at Augsburg Ice Arena:
A visitor's locker room is available inside the Augsburg Ice Arena,
in the northwest corner of the main rink ("Rink A"). The locker room
will be available two hours before game time, between periods, and after
the game for showers. Locker rooms will be secured (lock and key provided
by the site manager); however, please be responsible for your own valuables
(bring your own locks). Towels will NOT be provided. A table for taping
(bring your own athletic tape and other athletic training supplies)
and a chalkboard will be available in the locker room. You are responsible
for your own hockey-specific equipment (skate sharpeners, heat guns,
etc.). Because of the tight confines in and around the locker room
area, access is restricted to players and coaches only. Please note
that because of limited locker room space in the Augsburg Ice Arena,
this policy may be changed for specific games (especially men's/women's
hockey doubleheaders). Check before you arrive for specific locker room
assignments.
There are no locker rooms available at Parade Stadium
(baseball). Visiting teams are welcome to use the Si Melby Hall
locker room; contact Augsburg athletic staff or the baseball coach for
details.
For events at Edor Nelson Field (football/men's and women's soccer/softball): Teams are reminded that metal cleats are PROHIBITED from being used on the field. Also, sunflower seeds and chewing gum are PROHIBITED.
