MINNEAPOLIS (10/25/06) -- Julie Jenkins (So., Edina, Minn.) claimed her third triple-double of the season, with 10 kills, 22 assists, 17 digs and five blocks, as her Augsburg College volleyball team closed its 2006 season on a high note, scoring a win in four games over Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match Wednesday night at Augsburg's Si Melby Hall.

Dani Boner (So., Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) led all players with 15 kills, adding 21 digs for her ninth double-double of the year, as the Auggies finished their season at 11-17 overall, the most wins for an Augsburg club squad 2001 (12-18). Augsburg finished 2-9 in MIAC play this season.

Shelby Hyllengren (Jr., Cannon Falls, Minn.) had 14 kills, six digs and two blocks to lead Hamline (17-9 overall, 6-5 MIAC), a team which will continue its season in the six-team MIAC postseason playoffs next week. The Pipers, the No. 5 seed, will travel to face No. 4-seed St. Thomas on Tuesday (10/31) at 7 p.m. in St. Paul.

Augsburg used a 7-0 scoring run to claim the win in the opening game, while Hamline had a 12-3 scoring run of its own to notch the second-game win. Augsburg trailed 21-16 in the third game, but rallied back to claim the win, then jumped out to a 20-10 lead in the final game to score the victory.

Katie LaGrave (Jr., Okinawa, Japan/Kadena HS) collected 11 kills, eight digs and five blocks for the Auggies, while Barbara Simmons (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had nine kills and three blocks. Breann Woelfel (Fr., Annandale, Minn.) had eight kills and 10 digs, Shanna Reed (Fr., Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) had 26 assists and 12 digs, and Haley Bower (Jr., Brainerd, Minn.) had 21 digs.

For Hamline, Dana Luiken (Sr., Chatfield, Minn./Chosen Valley HS) had 13 kills and four blocks, while Amanda Booth (So., Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had 12 kills, eight digs and three blocks (one solo). Tasha Simmons (Fr., Eagan, Minn.) and Jenna Witt (Sr., Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had 14 digs apiece, while Jenny Nichols (So., Rockford, Minn.) had 46 assists, eight digs and two blocks, and Tina Cherland (Jr., New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) had 11 assists.
