Women's Golf 9/3/04 -- Augsburg College Invitational, final results

MEDINA, Minn. (9/3/04) -- Katie Glorvigen followed up her first-round 82 with a final-round 81 to claim medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 163, as her University of St. Thomas women's golf team won the Augsburg College Invitational tournament, completed on Friday afternoon at the Baker National Golf Course.

As a team, St. Thomas had five of the top 10 individual scores to win the tournament by 40 strokes, with 678 strokes to second-place Augsburg's 718. St. Thomas' B squad was third with 730, Carleton was fourth with 731 and Macalester was fifth with 770.

Tricia Nelson shot a 171 to place second, with Tommie B-squader Megan Doyscher and Augsburg's Micaela Pommerening (Jr., Hopkins, Minn./Blake HS) tying for third with identical rounds of 172. UST's Holly Noble and Carleton's Kelly Lewis tied for fifth with totals of 173.

Maureen Hardwik shot 176 and Jennifer Greenfield shot 179 to place in the top 10 for the Tommies.

Marisa Navarro (So., Rochester, Minn./Century HS) rallied from a first-day 93 with a second-round 81 to finish seventh with a 174 for the Auggies.

Sophie Snyder shot a 177 total for Carleton, placing ninth. Kate Waller tied for 13th with a 185 total for the Knights.

Macalester was paced by Kristen Ausan, who finished 17th with a 190 total. Kylie Thomson and Grace Arnold each shot 193 for the Scots.
