MINNEAPOLIS (2/11/05) -- Courtney Sekevitch (Fr., Mendota Heights, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) and Melanie Drake (So., Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) scored goals for the University of St. Thomas, and Becky Kilpatrick (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.) made 22 saves to claim her fifth shutout of the season, as the Tommies blanked host Augsburg College 2-0 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game Friday night at the Augsburg Ice Arena.

In scoring their eighth shutout victory of the season, the Tommies improved their unbeaten streak to eight straight games (7-0-1) and won their fifth game in a row to improve to 15-2-2 overall, 12-0-1 in MIAC play.

Amanda Bockmann (Fr., Wind Lake, Wis./Muskego HS) made 30 saves in a losing effort for the Auggies, who dropped their fourth straight game to fall to 10-8-2 overall, 7-6-0 in MIAC play.

St. Thomas dominated play for much of the game, claiming a 32-22 shots-on-goal advantage.

The Tommies scored midway through the first period, as Sekevitch completed a breakaway on assists from Jackie Foley (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Ashley Reinhardt (Fr., Eagan, Minn.) at the 11:52 mark.

St. Thomas clinched the win in the third period, as a Drake shot from the point trickled under Bockmann's pads and into the net. Allison O'Hara (Jr., Duluth, Minn./Denfeld HS) was credited with the assist.

Augsburg could manage just three shots in the first period and nine in the second, but none could get past Tommie goalie Kilpatrick.

The teams complete the MIAC series on Saturday (2/12) at 2 p.m. at the St. Thomas Arena at St. Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights.
