Augsburg College claims 8 All-Americans, maintains lead after second round of NCAA wrestling championships ADA, Ohio (3/3/00) -- With eight wrestlers remaining -- all in the championship bracket -- Augsburg College continued to hold the lead after the second round of the NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships Friday night at the Ohio Northern University Sports Center in Ada, Ohio. Augsburg holds a 13-point lead over defending national champion Wartburg (Iowa) -- 58 to 45 -- in the national championship race. The Auggies, who won five national titles in the 1990s (1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998) are in search of their NCAA-record sixth national championship. Augsburg has eight wrestlers still alive, the most of any school. Wartburg is second with seven wrestlers remaining alive, but just five remain in the championship bracket.
