Game Summary:
MINNEAPOLIS (10/13/99) -- Stacy Gauger (Jr., Bloomington,
Minn./Jefferson HS) scored twice in a six-minute span late in
the game, providing the decisive margin as St. Olaf College topped
host Augsburg College 4-0 Wednesday in a Minnesota Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference women's soccer game at Anderson-Nelson Field.
Carolyn Detjen (Fr., Juneau, Alaska/Juneau-Douglas HS)
and Kristin Hamre (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) had the other
goals for the Oles, who improved to 9-4 overall and 2-4 in the
MIAC. Augsburg drops to 2-12 overall and 1-6 in the MIAC.
Goalkeeper Katie Cheese (So., Shakopee, Minn.) made
12 saves for the Auggies in a losing effort. Kathy Ballard
(So., Beavercreek, Ore.) stopped all three shots she faced
in the game. St. Olaf outshot the Auggies by a 15-3 margin in
the game.
Augsburg hosts Concordia-Moorhead next on Wednesday (10/20)
at 4 p.m. St. Olaf hosts Concordia on Saturday (10/16) at 1 p.m.
