Cross Country 9/1/07 -- Augsburg vs. Bethel dual meet MINNEAPOLIS (9/1/07) -- Course records were set in both men's and women's races, as Bethel University scored wins in a cross country dual meet over host Augsburg College on Saturday morning at Riverside Park. Bethel's men scored a 20-37 victory, with Dan Greeno running a 15:47 over 5,000 meters to win the individual race, breaking his course record of 15:53, set last year. Bethel's women scored a 17-46 win, with Nikki Umhoefer completing a course-record 18:45 time to win the 5,000-meter race. She broke the old women's mark of 19:11 set in 2004. In the men's race, Augsburg was paced by Brent Haglund (So., Fridley, Minn.), who finished second overall in 16:08. Chris Scribner (So., New York, N.Y./Port Townsen HS) finished sixth in 16:57. Keagan Marble (Fr., Waseca, Minn.) placed eighth in 17:36 and Shane Wyborny (So., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) placed ninth in 17:41. Victor Sanchez (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) placed 13th (12th team) in 18:32 and Jason Chrudimsky (Fr., Antigo, Wis.) placed 15th in 19:11. On the women's side, Augsburg was led by Jennifer Lovering (Fr., Bemidji, Minn.), who finished fourth in 20:47. Kim Carlson (Fr., New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) finished ninth in 22:48. Augsburg had finishers 11 through 15 -- Ashley Stoffers (Sr., Elk River, Minn.) in 23:44, Sarah Peloquin (Sr., Prescott, Wis.) in 24:07, Winter Shaler (So., Chatfield, Minn./Chosen Valley HS) in 24:44, Bree McLuen (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn./Alpha Omega Academy HS) in 24:54 and Tori Bahr (Jr., Brainerd, Minn.) in 25:00. Samantha Schuder (Fr., Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha South HS) finished 18th in 25:49, while Kelsie Lungstrom (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) finished 19th in 26:38.
