Cross Country 11/10/07 -- Augsburg at NCAA Division III Central Regional NCAA CENTRAL REGIONAL PAGE -- CLICK HERE NORTHFIELD, Minn. (11/12/07) -- With eight of the 12 runners competing recording personal-best times, the Augsburg College men's and women's cross country teams finished their seasons with strong performances at the NCAA Division III Central Regional, held at St. Olaf College. Five of the six Auggie men claimed personal-best times, as the Auggies recorded their best regional finish since the 2004 season with a 15th-place, 404-point effort. With three of the six Auggie women claiming personal-bests, Augsburg finished 21st with 627 team points. Brent Haglund (SO, Fridley, Minn.) led the Auggie men with a 20th-place, 26:00 finish, breaking his previous 8,000-meter personal-best time by seven seconds. His 20th-place finish was the best by an Augsburg male runner in regional competition since 2004. Chris Scribner (JR, New York, N.Y./Port Townsen HS) took six seconds off his previous personal-best time with a 26:53 finish, placing 62nd. Shane Wyborny (SO, Detroit Lakes, Minn.) placed 70th with a 27:04 time, taking 27 seconds off his previous personal-best effort. Keagan Marble (FY, Waseca, Minn.) matched his previous personal-best time with a 28:42 effort, placing 122nd. Victor Sanchez (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) placed 130th in 29:08, and Jason Chrudimsky (FY, Antigo, Wis.) bettered his previous personal-best by 28 seconds with a 30:57, 152nd-place finish. For the Auggie women, Jennifer Lovering (FY, Bemidji, Minn.) completed her first season with another personal-best, taking eight seconds off her 6,000-meter best with a 23:50, 51st-place finish, marking a 1:56 improvement from the beginning of her season to the end. Kim Carlson (FY, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) also recorded a personal-best, taking 27 seconds off her previous best time with a 25:41, 131st-place finish. Tori Bahr (JR, Brainerd, Minn.) finished 147th in 27:04. Bree McLuen (FY, Maple Grove, Minn./Alpha Omega Academy HS) took 18 seconds off her previous personal-best time with a 27:12, 149th-place finish. Ashley Stoffers (SR, Elk River, Minn.) placed 154th in 27:49, and Sarah Peloquin (SR, Prescott, Wis.) placed 156th in 28:08. Cross Country -- NCAA Division III Central Regional Men's Team Results: 1.
